I have abondoned miniclip years ago. It was nice expirience but I'll not come back.

miniclip die with flash to be honest, now it either trash games or cool game that was already exist before got posted in the site, and that sad
armor games and kongregate are still alright in my book, tho i found the lack of preparation to the flash being end at the end of the year gonna hit em hard.

It one of those things when stuff getting interment in the future. The reason most flash-based websites look dead is mainly that we out-grown them or the fact that Flash is becoming useless with HTML5 is taking over. The reason Newgrounds is still alive is that how they started the Flash revolution. Most of these sites you mention were inspiring from NG.

The fact that Tom Fulp is expanding Newgrounds into the more world-wide genre (such as Audio, Art, HTML5 Game and such) and changing the gameplan with no-ads and having Ruffus as main Flash Player rather than only focusing on Flash movie and game is the reason why Newgrounds is still active and growing as time go on.

Miniclip is looking dead because of a lack of interest or the fact that it on its dying feet when Flash is going to discontinue this year.

If miniclip were a stale twinkie, Newgrounds would be a 12 layer devil's food cake

Frank's Adventure!! :D

Nobody can compete with free well-made mobile games or free well-made desktop games. Google Play and Steam are the sources of free entertainment now. Armor Games and Kongregate try to keep up with their new publishing efforts, releasing games FOR Google Play and Steam. Of course, they're losing ground.

Newgrounds' best trait is that any creator can get exposure and interaction here. That's a strong point Tom & Team should push. There's a horde of creators making stuff and releasing it on itch.io / youtube / deviantart without anybody seeing it. Newgrounds is good for hobbyists making stuff for fun and seeing how people react. It's good for professionals to expand their brand.

Man, I remember Miniclip! I'm of that age where I remember playing web games like that in the school's computer lab all the time. I rarely went on Newgrounds at the time, wasn't into that edgier stuff as a kid. Now I love NG because of the community here, while other sites like that feel dead. But I have some good memories of the site's games, and they inspire some of the stuff I make now! Getting Shockwave or whatever to get 3D web games running was tough, but man was it cool when I found a computer that it worked on. Neat to hear someone else remembers On The Run :):):) Thanks for writing this!

Newgrounds is the best!

I only stick with Newgrounds for the community, definitely had a better reception here. Miniclip definitely had its place in history tho.

Defiantly remember playing those "George Bush shootout games" and a few other notable games/movies, but not anymore. Nothing against them, just haven't had a interest, but they sure made their place in the internet during the time.
